Consultancy to advise on both Renewable Energy Generation and capacity and carbon offsetting and sequestration plus the option of a green fund to support these projects

Canterbury City Council wishes to select and appoint a suitable supplier for the provision of Consultancy Services to advise on both Renewable Energy Generation and capacity and carbon offsetting and sequestration plus the option of a green fund to support these projects and invites tenderers to submit a tender to meet the Council’s requirement, as outlined in the invitation to tender pack of documents.

The Contract is anticipated to commence December 2026 and will continue for a period of up to 9 months (unless terminated early in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract) and may be extended for a period of up to 18 months subject to the satisfactory performance of the Services by the Contractor and at the Council’s entire discretion. Please note the following Lots will apply:-

Lot 1- Renewable energy and capacity –Appendix C refers- indicative budget £25k

Lot 2- Carbon offsetting and sequestration and green fund – Appendix D refers- indicative budget £55k

Lot 3- Consultants who can carry out the work as outlined in both Appendix C and D- indicative budget £80K

It is the Councils preference for a single consultant to carry out both elements of work as described in Lot 3. However, if the submissions received and scores attained for this Lot are not in the best interest of the Council, they will continue to appoint a winner from the highest combined score for Lot 1 and a further contract to the winner from the highest combined score for Lot 2. The decision with regards to appointment of a single contract within Lot 3 is at the total discretion of the Council.
