Description

The Council is looking to procure Event Noise Monitoring Services. This service will be carried out by qualified and experienced noise consultants at Scarborough open Air Theatre. Noise monitoring is a mandatory planning and premises licence condition for amplified music events at the venue and is required to ensure events are delivered in a manner that prevents public nuisance and protects nearby noise sensitive receptors. The appointed Noise Consultant shall provide a comprehensive, end to end noise monitoring and management service for all qualifying events held at Scarborough open Air Theatre. The requirements of the Venue on show day will be for two fully qualified Noise Monitoring Staff, one will be positioned next to the Front of House Sound Desk at all times, and the other will monitor outside the Venue from the key identified monitoring points in accordance with Planning and Licensing requirements. The service shall encompass the full lifecycle of each event. There is a maximum of 30 music events permitted per calendar year, these numbers vary, the contract will not guarantee volume of work. The following figures are for indicative purposes only; • 2025 season delivered 18 events • 2026 season delivered 28 events The successful provider will carry out, but may not be limited to, the following; • Pre-event Surveys and Planning • On-Site Noise Monitoring and control • Background Noise Surveys • Sound Propagation Testing • Event Day Monitoring • Provide a Noise Management Plan • Provide Pose-Event Noise Reports.
