Description

The London Borough of Brent appointed a Provider by direct award for the provision of books and other materials in Community Languages to the six Brent libraries and the Outreach and Home library service. The contract is for a maximum budget of £49,000 over the Initial Contract Period (2 years) for the supply of materials in Community Languages.

The Service Requirements are as follows:

• where requested, to supply materials in the agreed languages within the timescales set out in this specification.

• where requested, is to provide selected stock to an agreed budget of the best additions to the stock available.

• regularly update available collections to offer the latest publications available as close to publication as possible.

• offer book lists or shop buys to allow for locally selected items to be purchased.

• process all transactions using the EDI transfer method.

• provide the requested orders directly to the individual library sites.

• ensure that each order is to be separately invoiced.

• supply individual titles to satisfy customer requests within 30 days of receiving the order. Where this is not possible, the provider should inform the Council within 14 days;.

• required to meet the additional requirements outlined within this Specification in relation to EDI transfers, MARC records and servicing. In order to be responsive to the needs of the local community, the Council may require new collections of languages to be added on a pilot basis. Regularly update the Council of any additional languages they are able to supply throughout the term of the Agreement.
