Description

Please note: This is a preliminary market engagement exercise, and NOT an opportunity to submit tenders.

Worcestershire County Council (WCC) is responsible for the delivery of services for children, young adults and their families across Worcestershire. These services include Children’s Social Care, Education, Early Help and Fostering.

In Worcestershire, there are currently a number Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) over the age of 18 who are seeking asylum within the United Kingdom, some of whom are yet to receive a substantive decision with regards to their Leave to Remain (LTR) status, whilst others await a housing move-on due to delays in their LTR status being granted.

Prior to a LTR status being determined, UASC have no recourse to public funds (NRPF) with all practical and financial support being provided by WCC, including accommodation.

The Proposal

WCC are seeking to identify whether there are service providers able to provide accommodation for 3 young adults in Worcester City, Redditch and Bromsgrove Districts (9 in total). WCC would look to block book 3 bedded HMO’s in each district for this cohort of young adults, providing UASC Care Leavers with a suitable location to meet their cultural needs.

The information you provide to us will be used by Worcestershire County Council. It will only be used to inform recommendations on our options appraisal for the procurement of HMO’s for UASC Care Leavers. None of your personal details or individual responses will be shared with any third party.

We are in the first instance seeking feedback from HMO suppliers through a preliminary market engagement questionnaire.
