Data Warehouse Route to Cloud

Data Warehouse Route to Cloud service delivery. Support the design and delivery of a Cloud platform, the migration of data to this platform and the decommissioning of the legacy platform.

The service will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of an alpha data platform, for supporting migration of data to this platform and the decommissioning of the legacy platform through beta and into live. This includes:

• Technical enablement and standing up of a new cloud-based platform

• Migration of (c150Tb - to be validated) of data from legacy platform to the new cloud-based platform

• Oversee the decommissioning of existing on-premises data infrastructure

All activities must align with DWP's governance standards, including compliance with the Digital Design Authority, Red Lines Assessment, and collaborative engagement with stakeholders across Digital and wider business units. The service is expected to work closely with DWP teams to ensure maximum business value and minimal disruption throughout the transformation.

The service will also provide ongoing support to DWP staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational readiness, and contributing to the department's strategic goal of a fully realised, cloud-native data warehousing estate.
